I retired in January 2018 and after working long hours I found difficulty in adjusting to life without work so I decided to volunteer for the NHS.
I have been volunteering for nearly 18 months now and I have undertaken many different roles.
I volunteer on the welcome desk and I also deliver prescriptions from the hospital pharmacy to patients in their homes.
During the pandemic I was part of our facemask distribution rota, distributed Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) around the North West and helped out when a local celebrity bought lunch for all our staff.
I very much enjoy being busy and enjoy my welcomer role, often helping out with our new volunteers as they settle in.
I enjoy working with people and helping out where I can.
